Shoaib Akhtar makes comment at Pakistan’s T20 WC Selection – “Average People Make Average Decisions”
Shoaib Akhtar; the former Pakistan pacer spits his commentary at Pakistan’s team selector; Mohammad Wasim, just hours after the PCB announced its selection on the 15 players for the 2022 T20 World Cup.
In Shoaib Akhtar’s YouTube channel, the former cricketer makes commentary on Pakistan’s coaching staff, the captain, and several of the players.After that, he turned his arrow against Pakistan’s team decision on the T20 World Cup and criticized the PCB for choosing an unimpressive group.
“It is unrealistic to expect ordinary individuals to make remarkable decisions. The Pakistan cricket team’s tale is presented here. Which team has been chosen by the Pakistani board? The main selector’s choice will be average if he is average.”
“Pakistan’s problem was its middle-order. They (PCB) said they would sort it out. What they meant was, ‘we would make such a bad decision that we would not change the middle-order at all.”
Shoaib Akhtar judged Pakistan’s head coach; Saqlain Mushtaq’s abilities on coaching:
Shoaib Akhtar has questioned Saqlain Mushtaq’s abilities as the team’s head coach. He notably drew a note of the fact that the former off-spinner had retired from international cricket before the T20I format’s big-stage debut.
The first T20I was played in 2005, one year after Saqlain’s final international game. After Misbah-ul-Haq resigned in September of last year, the 45-year-old was named interim coach.
“Looking at Pakistan’s coaches, Saqlain last played (international) cricket in 2002-03 (2004). I don’t know if he has any idea about T20s. He’s my friend and he won’t like what I am saying, but Saqlain, ‘this is not your forte” Shoaib Akhtar said.
